Big Bone Walk at Eastbourne Seafront
The National Osteroporosis Society, Eastbourne &
District Group have organised a Big Bone Walk
There was the choice of short, medium and long walk (2.5, 6, 7miles)
The Mayor started the walk accompanied by Doctors and Professors who are working with us to improve the awareness about the disease which affects 1 in 2 women and 1 in 5 men over the age of 50 who will break a bone mainly because of osteoporosis.
The risk of developing osteoporosis can be reduced by taking plenty of weight bearing exercise and eating a healthy balanced calcium rich diet throughout life.
The money we raised will be used for special exercise classes targeting sufferers. Thank you for your efforts. (see pictures below)
