With its mixture of hip choreography from the mastermind behind Dirty Dancing and what is set to be an award winning soundtrack of poptastic songs. Described by critics as a “modern day Grease” the film features rising stars Zac Efron as basketball champ Troy who gets his heart slam dunked when he meets gorgeous brain box Gabrielle, played by Vanessa Anne Hudgens. Both sing like angels and decide to try out for the lead in the school musical, only to be consistently thwarted by a brother and sister duo, Sharpay and Ryan, who see themselves as the traditional stars of the school stage. It’s a fun story of how you can be whatever you want to be.
